What Medicare hospice covers
Original Medicare hospice can cover comfort-focused services for someone with a qualifying prognosis who elects hospice. That is the hospice team, medications related to the terminal illness, and related equipment. It is not rent, meals, or the ALF care level.
What to ask the community this week
Does the ALF allow hospice on site? Which agencies have they worked with? What happens if needs exceed what the license can keep? An ECC or LNS endorsement can matter here, but it is not a guarantee.
